  • Overview

    The Operations Center Administrator I position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining all IT systems needed by the business.  This includes but is not limited to all systems that reside in the datacenters in the US and Canada and all remote sites owned and managed by ExamWorks group.  This position requires strong technical orientation skills, a strong creative problem solver who is motivated to advance in the field and works well in a team-oriented environment.

     

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • Monitor all sites and systems in nontraditional business hours for outages and service disruptions.
    • Work with vendors and service providers where necessary to resolve any outstanding issues.
    • Monitor datacenter and site hardware and coordinate replacement with vendor if necessary.
    • Effectively communicate outages to appropriate parties and continue updates hourly.
    • Follow vendor escalation guide to expedite vendor outage.
    • Escalate outages to Operations Center Admin Supervisor in the event higher-level outage.
    • Document all outages per documented policy and procedure.
    • Transition all outstanding outages at end of shift.
    • Update all servers and workstations according to patch policy.
    • Add change tickets for each server updated with appropriate patches installed.
    • Send out updates of patch status following the patch policy.
    • Maintains all standards of compliance.
    • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE  

    Bachelor degree or an equivalent of education in an IT related field required.  A minimum of three years Information Technology related experience required. In-depth understanding of Cisco Networking, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Servers, VMWare View and other virtualization technologies required. 

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Knowledge of Cisco products and understanding of infrastructure and best practices.
    • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
    • Ability to follow instructions and respond to upper managements’ directions accurately.
    • Proven skills in advanced computer troubleshooting, analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated skills in accuracy and thoroughness. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met
