Overview

The Research Specialist is responsible for coordinating MLE referrals, communicating with clients regularly, requesting the authorizations and consents required for handling, review and negotiations of liens, invoicing clients, and handling lien finalizations. This position ensures all services are completed with highest quality and integrity and that all work is in full compliance with client contractual agreements, regulatory agency standards and/or federal and state mandates.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Acknowledge new referrals, clarifying information received with the referral and the nature of the assignment with the client or Account Executive.
  • Follow up calls to BCRC to track process of search
  • Processing of services within database, ensuring fields are properly completed.
  • Completion of Entitlement searches through use of consent forms and communicating with local Social Security offices.
  • Respond to customer emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Refer to Special Pricing and Account Instructions to ensure proper handling of referrals.
  • Scan received documents upon receipt.
  • Proofread all documents prior to sending to clients and BCRC.
  • Appropriate documentation of referrals including system notes and e-mails.
  • Working with Compliance Director and Operations Manager to ensure client correspondence is logical and up to date.
  • Assist with addressing issues and solving problems as needed.
  • Research pertinent information as required.
  • Assist other team members as needed and directed by management.
  • Regularly communicates with management and provides support as needed.
  • Promotes effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
  • Abide by all rules of the company such as safety, confidentiality and organizational directives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 1-3 years of administrative clerical experience.
  • Knowledgeable with business terminology, administration and management.
  • Must be able to adequately operate a general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
  • Must have strong knowledge of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals; Ability to compute rates and percentages.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer service skills.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to managements’ directions accurately.
  • Must possess excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation and style.
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Ability to concentrate and multitask in a fast paced work environment.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
