Overview

WHAT WE NEED:  A multi-tasking Floating Receptionist (internally known as Medical Office Assistant) to cover San Francisco and surrounding areas, as needed.

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:  Quality health care doesn’t just happen. It requires the help of a person who can follow the directions of a physician while also making the patient feel comfortable. The ability to give the same level of attention and detail to each and every patient, maintain a smooth flow of examinations, and cover the front desk to ensure all questions and inquiries are handled accordingly.  

 

WHAT IT TAKES: You will be responsible for preparing examination rooms, assisting physicians, recording height and weight, and completing clerical duties (answer phones, confirming appointments, email). 

 

The schedule will be from Monday-Friday; 9:00am-5:00pm with some weekends.

 

Main coverage will be at the San Francisco office with surrounding areas, as needed.  Compensation is $23 to $24/hour, plus overtime.  You will be compensated for travel time when covering surrounding areas and mileage will also be reimbursed.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Routes examinee to exam room, vitals room and/or x-ray room as needed.
  • Review chart and verifies examinee information is available for examining physician.
  • Prepares examinee for examination by performing and recording height and weight.
  • When necessary, chaperones examinations with female examinees or as requested by physician.
  • Responsible for set-up, maintenance, and cleanliness of exam rooms. Reports any issues or maintenance needs to management.
  • Maintains a smooth flow of examinations to ensure appointments are kept on schedule.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
  • Ensures all practices are carried out in accordance with state and federal safety and legal regulations.
  • Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
  • Promotes effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
  • Participate in various educational and or training activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Medical Receptionists come from all different backgrounds including customer service, clerical, secretary, administrative assistant, receptionist, medical assistant more! 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 6 months on the job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.
  • Must be able to perform day travel as required
  • Must hold a valid state Driver’s License
  • Must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone
  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to speak Spanish and/or Mandarin is a plus.
